Our Client is one of Australia's leading fund managers, and superannuation providers. Continued growth and recent project approvals result in the requirement to engage an Application Development Manager. This role will see the successful candidate work within an excellent environment, great culture and opportunity to gain exposure / learn new technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to effectively manage a larger software development team of up to 20 members
  • Build relationships between staff
  • Negotiate allocation of team members across projects and support based on business priorities and goals;
  • Significantly contribute to the IT management goals and initiatives;
  • Actively manage team development;
  • Actively look for cross skill opportunities;
  • Ability to transfer technical knowledge;
  • Ability to manage induction;
  • Monitor and report on team performance;
  • Develop relationships with technology groups ie (ETS, Architecture, other business line IT teams);
  • Manage team workloads; Support transformation programs;
  • Maximise opportunities for profitability and efficiency;
  • Identify and measure business performance.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Ability to communicate with all business stakeholders, both verbal and written;
  • Knowledge of the core business unit applications, business processes, products and associated technology;
  • Understanding of financial services products;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects to quality, costs and time frames;
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor others;
  • Understand and liaise with business stakeholders;
  • Solid understanding of the IT development cycle;
  • Ability to multi task and prioritise;
  • Proven experience in managing teams;
  • Minimum 8 years experience in IT, with proven track record application development and project management;
  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience.
