A New York-based $15 billion alternative investment management firm is currently looking for a Project Leader to join their technology team to help project manage proprietary solutions tailored to the firm's investment activities.

The Firm’s investment approach is fundamental and research-intensive, focusing on long/short credit and event-driven opportunities.    The Technology Department is heavily involved in developing custom tools for position, P&L and exposure reporting; investment modeling; risk management; pricing; trade processing and reconciliation; position and cash reconciliation, etc. 

The technology platform consists principally of web-based ASP.NET Intranet applications linked to Firm-wide SQL databases, and integrated with certain off-the-shelf applications in addition to market data feeds.  The Firm utilizes other programming languages as appropriate.

Job Description:

The individual will be primarily responsible for the successful management and tracking of project plans & business requirements by serving as the conduit between the business units and the technology team. This will include soliciting requirements through interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, business process descriptions, use cases, task, and workflow analysis using natural language. The individual will also work with the business units to balance project work flow and manage expectations, and liaise with the technology team to deliver on projects according to scope and time-frame.

Requirements:

  • 6-10 years experience with financial services (trading) business processes and systems
  • Demonstrated breadth of securities product knowledge
  • Application development experience in a .Net environment
  • Project management experience
  • Previous experience directing resources, deadlines, and standards
