The appropriate candidate should hold a passion for the precise short-term wind & temperature forecasts with a focus on Western and South-Western Europe. You should preferably be from a Physics or mathematical background and hold a Knowledge of mesoscale models, their physics and being able to use them together with the more general mid-range models. Furthermore if you have experience with mesoscale ensemble techniques it will be seen as highly beneficial.

You will have contacts/a network with suppliers of direct wind and temperature data, and monitor their accuracy skill. The appropriate candidate should possess extensive knowledge about hydrology and be keen to become responsible for European hydrology and model run-of-river production & river temperatures and their impact on the Mid Continental Power Markets. You should monitor within-day meteorological circumstances that can impact the demand & supply picture of power and gas. Also it is seen that holding an active Interest in energy & commodity markets whilst being able to work in a high-pressured environment is highly beneficial
