Located in Downtown Toronto, our client is looking for an expert specialist in project finance with a particular focus given to established experience working on infrastructure projects. Taking on the title of Senior Manager, Project Finance and reporting to the Vice President, Project Finance, the incumbent will function as Team Leader to provide senior management and project teams the assessment of complete financing structures and solutions in order to support decision-making and optimize the risk return profile of transactions pertaining to major projects within this organization. Specific responsibilities involved will include the following: - Provide expertise in early assessment of business development opportunities and prepare business cases that include market, business and financial analysis, risk identification and valuation, and solutions validation;
- Work with project teams and with external advisors to analyze and quantify project risks to help optimize the risk return profile of transaction to achieve maximum value for major infrastructure projects;
- Evaluate the relative merits of financing solutions with different debt, equity leverage and risk profile;
- Facilitate and negotiate contractual language and documentation required to accurately capture deal terms and economics and prepare and present board level materials on project economics, financing recommendations and deal terms on a project basis.
Requirements: As a strong candidate for this senior level opportunity, you bring forward 3 or more years of experience supporting senior decision makers in a project finance role setting. Your profile consists of an advanced academic degree such as an MBA or equivalent, or a professional certification such as the CFA designation. You have strong experience in structuring financing on a non or limited resource basis as well as experience in developing and closing deals. As a strong candidate, you additionally possess high developed analytical and financial modeling skills and an excellent knowledge of business case development, assessment and use of financial analysis methodologies (such as NPV, DCF) to evaluate project economic. You have a thorough knowledge of project finance including an understanding of the interaction between financing structures with risk profiles and mitigation and effect on pricing.
