Supervisor, Pricing Data Specialists 4138

Job Description:

The purpose of this job is to oversee the day to day tasks of the Data Services-North America Group and ensure the smooth running of the group. In general, the Supervisor, along with the input of the Senior Pricing Specialists, will ensure that the goal of maintaining the quality and timeliness of all pricing data that is transmitted and databased into Interactive Data is achieved. On a broad level the Supervisor will be up to speed on all of the daily tasks accomplished by the group, and will be responsible for the day to day operation of the group as well as operating efficiencies of the group.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Organize work flows ensuring that all business needs are met.
  • Day to day team organization including shift patterns and PTO management ensuring essential departmental staffing needs are met.
  • Supporting and contributing to an environment that fosters pro-activeness, accountability and customer focus.
  • Serve as mentor and resource to Senior Pricing Specialists and Pricing Specialists.
  • Represent Data Services in dealings with other departments throughout the company.
  • Maintain staffing levels: recruit, interview and hire new personnel as needed.
  • Prepare and deliver annual reviews for entire staff, using input from Senior Pricing Specialists.
  • Work with the Senior Pricing Specialists to create development programs for staff members through identifying skill sets and cross training needs and working with the data services management team to provide periodic evaluations and coaching.
  • Prepare monthly status report, providing management with insight into the challenges and accomplishments of the group.
  • Work with Data Services Support to proactively refine and update the price validation/editing procedures used within the group.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiencies and minimize risk at all times.
  • Maintain record of Key Performance Indicators, used by management to measure the productivity of the group.
  • Provide feedback to management regarding service, vendor management, operational, data quality and, personnel issues by proactively identifying problematic issues within the department or of our customers.
  • Develop clear lines of communication between staff/shifts.
  • Organize and run departmental staff meetings.
  • Work within cross-functional teams in organizational projects and ensure that client expectations are being met and that quality/service issue are quickly identified and either resolved or escalated to Data Services’ Managers.
  • In addition to the daily responsibilities the supervisor will be expected to play a full and active part in supporting the development of the business, in particular its North American data offerings, and to support the global Data Services group.
  • Perform project work and special assignments as requested.

Qualifications:

Financial Services Industry experience.
Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Customer focused.
Ability to meet tight deadlines and maintain quality while working under pressure.
Effective in changing environments with a positive attitude to change.
Keen interest in finance and stock markets.
Able to learn new tasks quickly with minimum supervision.
Self-motivated and able to act on own initiative.
Conscientious and dedicated.
Flexible with working hours in order to meet the department’s service, performance standards and customer requirements.
Preferred Education:
Business degree or equivalent work experience.
