Infrastructure Director     Grant Thornton LLP is the U.S. member firm of Grant Thornton International, one of the six global accounting, tax and business advisory organizations. Infrastructure Practice Leader will work with other members of the State & Local and Education (SLED) leadership team and with UK partners and leaders to build a P3 practice in the US. This individual will need to work independently and also in close collaboration with not only the public sector leaders, but with representatives of practice offices across the US. Specific responsibilities include: Planning and strategy: assessing market for P3 services, assessing competition, identifying potential teaming partners, SWOT analysis, leading development of business plan for P3 practice in US. Business development: building relationships in various constituencies and at various levels across the US, identifying sales opportunities, qualifying leads, advancing opportunities to successfully close sales, participating in pipeline management and calls.  Solution development: working collaboratively with SLED leadership and the UK leadership team to define the solutions and services we will offer in the US , fleshing out - in collaboration with these individuals and staff from various practices and offices - approaches, messages and methods appropriate to P3. Staff recruiting and development: taking a leadership role in identifying recruiting requirements (as the business is established), coordinating recruiting plans and budgets, preparing requisitions, interviewing potential hires, and making hiring recommendations; working with staff once they join the firm to ensure they develop needed relationships and skills to successfully deliver work and to continue their professional development. Marketing: participating actively in appropriate industry association(s); collaborating to develop webinars, seminars, white papers or other thought leadership to help us get our message and brand established in this market. Practice management: in collaboration with SLED VMS leader, actively leading and developing a meaningful P3 practice in the US. This includes all of the elements above, plus risk management, business management of engagements and participation more broadly in Grant Thornton, GPS and SLED.

 

Candidate should have a proven track record working in the public sector or private sector project finance and/or economic development area. Seeking a candidate with strong relationships in the state and local sectors - preferably in appropriate geographies, but not essential. Prefer a candidate with prior experience building and leading a business - from sales through delivery management. This is not a business development position alone. Individual needs to be able to successfully solve complex P3 problems, to learn additional techniques and methods, and to bring creativity to development of a new practice area.

  Job Qualifications  

Bachelor's degree in economics or finance preferred; public policy or other may be considered. Candidate should have a proven track record working in the public sector or private sector project finance and/or economic development area.  Seeking a candidate with strong relationships in the state and local sectors Prefer a candidate with prior experience building and leading a business - from sales through delivery management. This is not a business development position alone.  Individual needs to be able to successfully solve complex P3 problems, to learn additional techniques and methods, and to bring creativity to development of a new practice area.
