We are looking for an experienced Gas Dispatcher

Job description

• Commercial optimisation of the gas portfolio of Essent on an intraday and partly day-ahead basis versus the spot market and the unbalance market. Real-time decision-making to turn gas storages up or down and to adjust supply contracts.

• Commercial identification, negotiation and execution of intraday and day-ahead trading opportunities on the bilateral spot market and unbalance market. This requires trading/ negotiating skills.

• Minimize losses in emergency situations like gas storage or gas field outages through quick decision making.

• Monitor and balance the gas portfolio on a 24 hour basis to avoid “costly” imbalance positions.

• Nominate gas flows in 14 countries all across Europe within critical deadlines.

• Interacts smoothly with the short-term (structured) gas traders and is able to decide under stress, even with big money involved.

• Execute dispatch, nominations and balancing activities for ETISA (Geneva), based on a commercial fee.

• Keep in close contact with internal and external customers.

• Monitor and balance in continues shifts (7 *24 hour shift) the gas portfolio (both demand and supply).

• Has a leading role during night- and weekend-shifts in decision making towards supply contractors, production and our large customers.

• Understand the impact of actions on the power side in relation to the gas side and vice versa.

Skills & Experience

• Knowledge of physical gas fields and power plants.

• Academic level.

• Commercial background (preferable economic).

• Commercial awareness for the identification of optimization opportunities.

• Experience in the energy sector (gas or electricity).

• Trading and negotiation skills.

• Active knowledge of English, and preferably Dutch and German.
