Reporting to the Application Support Manager you will form part of the Hong Kong Equities Operations IT Support team, covering Asian Market Equities Operations. Ideally you’ll have a minimum of five years experience in supporting banking applications, with a strong analytical and technical mind-set. Very good verbal and written communication, plus your ability to follow issues through until closure are all key to your success!

Key responsibilities/technical skills required;

• Investigate and troubleshoot production problems to provide workaround solutions.

• Liaison with local Operations to ensure that operational issues are resolved on a timely basis and that correct actions are taken.

• Take ownership of each issue and manage each request or incident to its successful conclusion, include bug fixing, escalation and follow up of problem tickets with development team and vendors.

• Conduct testing, provide UAT support and handle production rollout.

• Unix: shell scripting (preferably IBM AIX and SUN Solaris).

• Oracle Database SQL.

• MS Excel-VBA, MS Access, SQL Server.

• With IBM Websphere (MQ Series/MQSI), Java skills will be an advantage.
