Our Private Bank client is seeking a Head of Private Banking (IT), to manage the local Private Banking business strategy, function and implementation of the strategy in the UK as well as future global initiatives.

Our client seeking a Head of Private Banking (IT), to work under the direction of the Global CIO (Chief Information Officer) for Private Banking to manage the local Private Banking business strategy, function and implementation of the strategy in the UK as well as future global initiatives.

As Head of Private Banking you will lead a cohesive, professional and high performing team at various levels of the organisation consisting of permanent as well as contract staff.

Challenges for the role of Head of Private Banking include:

  • To have end to end accountability for a complex portfolio of IT local initiatives
     
  • Ownership of the local IT budget for Private Banking
     
  • Involvement in the management and governance in key global initiatives
     
  • To coordinate specification, development and implementation activity between multiple stakeholders and delivery work streams both onshore and offshore
     
  • To contribute to the development of Private Banking, working closely with Local Business Executive
     
  • Implementation of technical standards in methods, tools and processes
     
  • To lead in the development of a professional consultancy relationship with internal customers: advising, developing business cases, estimating and delivering to time, cost and quality targets

The Candidate:

The successful candidate will be instantly credible, hardworking, committed and have the drive and determination to be successful in a fast moving culture with constantly changing deadlines and priorities.

  • An industry expert in financial services generally, Private Banking knowledge is desirable, from the IT perspective; a deep appreciation of financial services / banking from technology strategy & architecture perspective is required; this experience could have been gained with a leading IT/management consultancy.
     
  • A seasoned, career technology professional, with an awareness of ‘leading edge’ best practice in IT strategy & architecture, applications development, project/programme management, infrastructure & service delivery methodologies
     
  • An industry expert in financial services generally, Private Banking knowledge is desirable, from the IT perspective; a deep appreciation of financial services / banking from technology strategy & architecture perspective is required; this experience could have been gained with a leading IT/management consultancy.
     
  • Appreciation of financial services / banking from technology and retail perspective is required
     
  • an understanding of Private Banking, products and processes is desirable
     
  • Confident & ambitious; with the all-round business competence and strategic vision required for a role at this level

  • Degree qualified or equivalent
