Top US hedge fund is looking to build-up a new bespoke database to handle their high frequency trading strategies. Will look at candidates coming from experience or coming straight from academia.

Top New York hedge fund is rebuilding their high frequency trading system around a proprietary database system and is hiring computer scientists and systems engineers to build it. This is a new team and the client is looking to make both junior and senior hires.

Strong candidates will come from a top 20 Computer Science program with experience in high frequency data warehousing and low latency access techniques for extremely large and constantly growing datasets. Candidates should be both theoretically strong as well as have experience applying their knowledge to a real world problem (either in side or outside of finance). Platform is still being established, but candidates should be very comfortable in both core Java and C++.

Client will look at all experience levels, including those coming from Ph.D. programs directly and those coming from non-traditional backgrounds (such as research or the IT industry). Special interest in candidates from internet search/indexing companies, tele-communications, or academic/scientific computing backgrounds. Pay is top of the line and the client will cover any necessary relocation.
