Our client, a major International Financial Services provider, seeks a fully qualified Actuary with experience of writing Final Salary and Group Annuity business that would be able to build relationships with Financial Advisers and Employee Bens consultants.

Summary of Area/Department Focus:

The client provide a wide range of services, investment and buyout propositions to defined benefit occupational schemes in the UK. Their focus is to provide integrated support solutions and exit strategies for closed schemes.

The area is a strategic team within “specialist sales division” tasked with generating large premium final salary and group annuity business via corporate advisers and EBCs.  This team of sales actuaries and business managers are central to the continued development of this significant market opportunity for the client.

The primary objective of the team is to identify new Defined Benefit sales opportunities and secure profitable new final salary and Group Buyout business.  In addition we provide colleagues and external customers with technical and commercial expertise to support the development and delivery of our new corporate products and services in this field.

 
Summary of Job Purpose:

Working closely with the Senior Sales Actuary and Head of Sales, the post holder will have responsibility for leading various sales activities and supporting other members of the team.    

Key activities will be:

• To develop and build high-level relationships with key Employee Benefit Consultancies and financial advisers, demonstrating the expertise and value added support from Sales Actuaries in winning Defined Benefit and Group Buy-out business.

• To provide actuarial support to the client’s Trustee Solutions Sales Team, regional sales centres and intermediaries with the objective of securing new final salary and group annuity business.

• To design and produce tenders/business plan solutions for new schemes and participate in sales pitches and the negotiation of terms.

• To provide the client’s Trustee Solutions Sales Team with informed views and opinion regarding market developments and to present ideas for the teams future sales initiatives.

• To provide central technical input on behalf of the team into the design and content of the clients Trustee Solutions sales proposition and product development strategy.

• To participate in the creation of the clients Trustee Solutions new business sales strategy.
