We are working with a newly established $250m to $500m private equity that will invest in various industries across the MENASA region. The fund will seek equity and equity-related investments in companies with a majority/minority stake with strong contractual rights but will not be involved in the day to day management of the investee companies but will work with management to create value. The fund will be opening offices in Abu Dhabi, Istanbul and Tunis (or another location in North Africa). The recruitment process is driven by a desire to build a cross border fully functional investment team and to attract high calibre, experienced and well qualified investment professionals to deliver a strong growth strategy.

Vice Presidents
Role and responsibilities:

  • Strong academic qualifications; MBA from a leading internationally regarded university
  • Highly experienced professionals with an Investment Banking, Private Equity or Big Four Transaction Services background; candidates with a strategy consulting or industry background will also be considered
  • A proven track record of originating, structuring, and executing deals
  • A strong network of existing relationships with investment bankers, private equity/ industry professionals, potential co-investors and other relationships likely to generate deal flow
  • Excellent verbal and written English language skills plus fluency in Turkish
  • Ability to work in a structured manner in time-critical situations with short deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task numerous issues simultaneously
  • Participate in the development and implementation of the Fund’s strategy
  • Coordinating and overseeing the preparation of reports, based upon research undertaken to identify areas/industries offering attractive investment opportunities and determining the optimum approach to be adopted for each
  • Prepare reports, based upon research undertaken to identify countries/industries offering attractive investment opportunities and determining the optimum approach to be adopted for each
  • Recruitment - development of a team of professionals
  • Management of a small team to undertake and support the Fund’s direct investment activities
  • Propose appropriate procedures and methodologies for the direct investment activities in accordance with best practices. Periodic review of these procedures and methodologies, updating where necessary, to ensure that compliance with best practice is maintained
  • Identify potential direct investment opportunities
  • Responsible for screening the investment opportunities
  • Assess Fund's exit opportunities of investments

Associates
Role and responsibilities:

  • Highly experienced professionals with an Investment Banking, Private Equity or Big Four Transaction Services background
  • A proven track record of originating, structuring, and executing deals
  • A strong network of existing relationships with investment bankers, private equity/ industry professionals, potential co-investors and other relationships likely to generate deal flow
  • Excellent verbal and written English language skills plus fluency in Turkish
  • Entrepreneurial, motivated to succeed
  • A team leader with strong interpersonal, communication, and people skills
  • Ability to work in a structured manner in time-critical situations with short deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task numerous issues simultaneously
  • Prepare reports, based upon research undertaken to identify countries/industries offering attractive investment opportunities and determining the optimum approach to be adopted for each
  • Analyse the industries and the market position of investment opportunities to help develop the best investments and a strong strategy for the Fund
  • Identify potential direct investment opportunities
  • Create valuation and financial models for each investment opportunity
  • Prepare key issues for negotiation with counterparties
  • Assess the various financial structures and determine financial impact
  • Liaise and coordinate external due diligence with specialist advisors
  • Prepare detailed quantitative and qualitative review reports to determine whether to proceed to full due diligence
  • Coordinate internally and with all external parties (partners, co-investors, lawyers, the invested company, etc.)
  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports on each portfolio company
  • Regular update assessments of each investment

Analysts
Role and responsibilities:

  • Outstanding academic record gained from a leading University preferably including an MBA or Master’s of Finance from an established business school
  • Minimum of five completed transactions preferably at a respected private equity firm, investment bank, accountancy firm or consultant
  • Excellent technical skills including analytical and financial modelling skills gained from work experience
  • Motivation to succeed
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and people skills
  • Excellent verbal and written English language skills plus fluency in Turkish
  • International approach with an ability to adapt easily to living in a different cultural environment
  • Analysing and valuing potential investment opportunities, an ability and willingness to take further responsibility and develop into a principal investor
  • Create valuation and financial models for each investment opportunity
  • Develop flexible models to ascertain the impact of various proposals on the outcome of the proposed investment
  • Assess the various financial structures and determine financial impact
  • Liaise and coordinate external due diligence with specialist advisors
  • Prepare detailed quantitative reports to enable smooth drawing up of detailed final proposals
  • Coordinate internally and with all external parties (partners, co-investors, lawyers, the invested company, etc.)
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports on each Portfolio Company
  • Regular update assessments of each investment
  • Verify compliance of performance with original business plan and determine impact of variations
